WEST PITTSTON — The West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festival will be held Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7.
The parade will begin at noon Saturday on Exeter Ave and will stop at the festival grounds on Susquehanna Avenue in which there will be the Little Miss contest, David Blight dancers, games and more.
Foods available include veggie burgers, chicken wings and homemade soups, plus there will be arts and crafts with talented crafts people. Cherry Picks will be available for $1 to win a prize.
All proceeds go towards the West Pittston community.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Saturday, May 6
Noon — Parade/“After Hours” playing on festival grounds
1 p.m. — Welcome with Pat Messina, President of Cherry Blossom; Ralph Salerno & Robert Messina, Grand Marshals; Mr. and Mrs. Tony D’Angelo, Outstanding West Pittston Citizens; Mary Simmons singing the Star Spangled Banner; Invocation with Wyoming Area Scholarship winner Dylan Kostack.
1:15 p.m. — Little Miss Cherry Blossom Contest
2:45 p.m. — Pittston David Blight
3:15 p.m. — Emerald Isle Step Dancers
3:45 p.m. — Perfect Harmony School of Music
4:15 p.m. — “Stay Loud!”
5:15 p.m. — TBA
Sunday, May 7
Noon — Invocation followed by the Wyoming Area Drama Club performing “The Adams Family”
12:30 p.m. — WP Cherry Blossom’s Got Talent
1:30 p.m. — Dance Theatre of WB
2:30 p.m. — Perfect Harmony School of Music/ Beth Connor
3 p.m. — “Irrefutables”
4 p.m. — “Flaxy Morgan”
5 p.m. — Festival closing
