YATESVILLE — Pittston Area will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) to all sophomores and interested juniors on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Taking the PSAT/NMSQT enables students to identify skills for improvement, provide entry into scholarship programs, prepare students for the SAT Reasoning Test, build a college-going culture, support college and career planning through College Quickstart and an introduction to the new redesigned SAT.

It is recommended that students planning to take the SAT during their junior year take the PSAT first as a practice test.

All sophomore students will take the PSAT and the district will cover the cost. Cost is for junior students only.

Test availability is on a first-come/first-served basis. The cost of the test is $14.50, cash only, Students must pay for the test on or before Tuesday, Oct. 7.
