PITTSTON — The board of directors of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce recently announced the appointment of Michelle Mikitish to succeed Rosemary Dessoye as executive vice president.
Mikitish is a 1992 graduate of Penn State University, a 2014 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre and a 2013 graduate of the State Auto Pacesetter Producer Development Program where she earned her commercial lines coverage specialist designation.
Mikitish has over 20 years of business-to-business sales experience and was most recently employed as a commercial lines producer for Assured Partners Pennsylvania and AJ Lupas Insurance Agency in Plains.
Previously employed by Pride Mobility Products Corporation, her professional experience includes medical equipment sales, sales management and project management. Mikitish is a board member of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network. She is currently a member of the St. Joseph Marello Parrish Council, actively supports Pittston Area sports teams as a member of the field hockey, soccer, football and track booster clubs, and serves Leadership Wilkes-Barre as a member of the alumni council.
Mikitish is the daughter of Andrew and Connie Ricotta Miroslaw and resides in Jenkins Township, where she and her husband, Peter, are raising three children: Elizabeth, Katrina and Michael.
Having served the chamber in various capacities for the last 26 years — 17 as executive vice president — Rosemary Dessoye recently announced her plans to retire on Dec. 31, 2015.
