PITTSTON ACTIVE ADULT CENTER

Learn to ballroom dance Thursdays

PITTSTON — The center offers ballroom dance lessons with Joseph Kull, instructor. Classes are from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays. Cost per class is $2 per person and class size is limited.

Exercise classes are offered at the center at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Healthy Steps classes with Ruth and Catherine are held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays. Sit and Be Fit chair exercise classes with Sandi are held at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. There is no charge for these classes. Zumba Gold classes with Tony are held from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. on Tuesdays. Cost per class is $2.

Apprise counselors are now taking appointments for Medicare Part D Open Enrollment Period. Anyone wishing to have their current prescription plan reviewed may Connie or Hazel at the center at 570-655-5561 to set up an appointment.

Bridge players interested in forming a bridge club may contact Connie at 570-655-5561. The club would meet Wednesday and/or Friday afternoons.

Pitch games will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free coffee is available from 8:30 a.m. to closing.

Lunch is served at noon Monday to Friday. Asking donation is $2 for those 60 years of age or older and $4.62 for those under 60 years of age. Reservations must be made by noon at least one day in advance. To make reservations, call the center at 570-655-5561.

FALLS ACTIVE ADULT CENTER

Christmas Bell Project is Monday

EXETER TWP. — A Christmas Bell Project will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 16.

Allied Services will have a physical therapist on hand between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18 to give balance assessments.

Blood pressure screenings will be done between 12:25 and 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 by Kristin Green, RN from Traditional Hospice.

A Thanksgiving concert will be put on by Jodi Kashuba from 11:30 a.m. to noon with a Thanksgiving lunch to follow on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The following activities are available throughout the week to anyone ages 50 and older at the Falls Active Adult Center:

Mondays: 10:30 a.m. to noon, Craft Club meets. Many projects are offered with all supplies provided.

Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch. Bingo following lunch.

Wednesdays: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Walking group meets, weather permitting. Nutrition tips at lunch.

Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch. Bingo will be held following lunch.

Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to noon Geocaching activity, weather permitting. Free Zumba Gold from 9:15 to 10 a.m.

The Falls Active Adult Center recently started the Garden Project. Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to participate. The group meets on Wednesdays.

Anyone wishing to join the Falls Active Adult Center for a hot meal each day at noon for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over and $4.62 for those under 60 should call Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before.

Trip to Sands Casino is Thursday

EXETER — A trip is being planned to Sands Casino for Thursday, Nov. 19. Pickups are in Exeter and Pittston. Non-members are welcome. Call Johanna at 570-655-2720 for reservations and information.

JENKINS TOWNSHIP SENIORS

Meeting will be Nov. 17

JENKINS — The Jenkins Township Senior Citizens will hold their regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Jenkins Township Hose House. President Jean Mudlock will preside at the business meeting. Hostesses for the meeting will be Ruth Musto and Pat Rinish. Refreshments will be served and bingo will follow. New members are always welcome.

ST. JOSEPH’S SENIOR SOCIAL CLUB

Club to meet Nov. 19

PITTSTON —The club will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 in the St. Joseph Marello Parish Center. Primary discussion will be of the Christmas Party. Members are reminded that a payment of $35 per person is to be made upon making reservations at this meeting. Call Rose Marie Amico at 570-654-0046 to make a reservation. The St. Joseph’s Social Senior Club Christmas party will be held at Fox Hill Country Club on Wednesday, Dec. 9. More details to come.
