Seventh annual turkey, trimmings and coat giveaway to be held

PITTSTON — Adult winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves are needed for the 7th annual Christmas turkey, trimming and winter coat giveaway to be held Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the former Seton Catholic Auditorium, Church Street, Pittston.

The event is sponsored by the Greater Pittston Food Pantry, a member agency of Feeding America and a ministry of the Care and Concern Ministries of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston.

Deadline for donations is Monday, Dec. 14 and can be made Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the parish center, Church Street, Pittston. Over 400 registered, low income families from the Greater Pittston and Wyoming areas will be served.

Volunteers are also needed to carry groceries from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 16. To register or volunteer call 570-654-9923.
