WEST PITTSTON — Megan Lee’s battle through Ewing’s sarcoma started something special.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party and Toys for Tots fundraiser was held at the West Pittston Moose Lodge. There, supporters of Lee, a 14-year-old Wyoming Area freshman, brought in more than $4,000 and nearly 20 boxes of new, unwrapped toys for the annual United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive.

Ssgt. Louis Cortes met with Lee at the Moose Lodge on Monday, Dec. 14 to accept the donation and the toys. Cortes was also presented a plaque from the Moose Lodge in recognition of the Marine Corps dedication to the event.
