It looks like this Christmas this year will feature partly sunny skies and above-average temperatures.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 49 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies reported.

Showers are expected today after 10 a.m., with a 90 percent chance of rain predicted. Up to three quarters of an inch of rain could fall, and the high will be near 58.

An 80 percent chance of showers is predicted for tonight, with up to a half an inch of rain possible. Tonight’s low will be around 57.

Cloudy skies are expected on Christmas Eve, along with a 50 percent chance of showers. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the high will be near 70.

Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, along with a slight chance of showers before midnight. The low will be around 50.

Christmas Day will bring partly sunny skies, along with a high near 57. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 41.
