Northeastern Pennsylvania roads look to be clear and free of traffic for the first commute of 2016.

Interstates 81, 309 and 476 are free-flowing and not congested. Motorists may encounter traffic at the toll booths on the Pennsylvania Turnpike as well as the on- and off-ramps of the Cross Valley Expressway.

The Interstate 81 and 80 interchange, Sugarloaf Township, shows some stop-and-go traffic.

Highway 315, in the area of Motorworld, Plains Township, as well as the intersection of Kidder and Mundy streets, Wilkes-Barre, may have some minor congestion.
