Wyoming Valley residents were greeted with rain to start their weekend this morning.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 35 degrees as of 7: 24 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

Rain was expected to stop by 8 a.m., with increasing winds throughout the day.

The day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.

An overnight low of 25 is predicted.

Sunday will bring a high of 35, with snow squalls possible.

Sunday’s overnight low will be 17 degrees, with a chance of up to an inch of snow.

For Monday’s holiday temperatures will drop with a high of only 25 degrees predicted.
