Slippery conditions could be possible in the Wyoming Valley this morning.

According to a special weather statement from the National Weather Service, light freezing rain will be possible this morning in portions of Luzerne County. The precipitation may also include trace amounts of ice, which could create some slippery roads.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 32 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

There will be a slight chance of freezing rain before 10 a.m. this morning, followed by a chance of rain throughout the day. A 30 percent chance of precipitation is predicted, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain possible. Today’s high will be near 41.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with a chance of snow that could mix with snow after midnight. Tonight’s low will be around 30.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, and the high will be near 35. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 20.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 34. Mostly cloudy skies are expected for Thursday night, along with a 20 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 24.
