Frigid temperatures, chance of snow possible as the week comes to an end

The Wyoming Valley could get a little more snow as the week draws to a close, and temperatures are also expected to drop.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 28 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

Cloudy skies are expected today, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers between noon and 4 p.m. Less than half an inch of snow is expected, and today’s high will be near 34.

Cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, along with a slight chance of snow showers. Tonight’s low will be around 21.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers after 8 a.m. Less than an inch of snow is expected, and the high will be near 32.

Partly cloudy skies are expected into Thursday night, with a low around 8 — wind chill values could make it feel like 0.

Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, with a high near 23. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 9.
