PITTSTON — Magisterial District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz recently announced the February 2016 monthly report for District Court 11-1-04. The court serves Avoca, Dupont, Duryea, Hughestown, Yatesville, Jenkins Township, Pittston Township and Pittston City.
During February 2016, 581 cases were filed. Criminal complaints, including misdemeanor and felony charges, totaled 54 filings. Civil complaints involving amounts in controversy up to $12,000 totaled 14 filings. Landlord-tenant complaints totaled seven filings. A total of 384 traffic citations were filed with the court, along with an additional 122 non-traffic summary citations.
The office collected and disbursed the following to each municipality: $2,607.71 to Avoca; $1,446.08 to Dupont; $1,403.30 to Duryea; $679.94 Hughestown; $1,246.89 to Jenkins Township; $3,814.92 to Pittston City; and $1,972.58 to Pittston Township.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania received $39,798.08 and Luzerne County received $5,621.91 for the month.
District Court 11-1-04 is located at Pittston City Hall. The office may be reached between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
