Commuters could encounter some areas of traffic congestion on the way into work and school this morning.

Isolated areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Interstates 81 and 476. Route 315 is reporting scattered areas of minor congestion, while some heavy congestion is reported on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps. Both lanes of travel on the South Cross Valley Expressway are reporting widespread areas of minor traffic congestion.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, some areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Kidder, Mundy and Spring streets.

Downtown, areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion are reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and onto South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Minor congestion is reported throughout Hazle Street, while scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on North and South Pennsylvania avenues.

Elsewhere, scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on North and South Main streets, Public Square, North and South River streets.

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
