Sunshine is expected to stick around into the latter part of the week, and temperatures are also expected to climb.

The Wyoming Valley, however, could see a slight chance for some rain as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 42 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, along with a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. Today’s high will be near 61.

Partly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, with a low around 42.

Sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 73. Partly cloudy skies are expected into Wednesday night, with a low around 49.

Mostly sunny skies are expected on Thursday, with a high near 76.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday night, along with a slight chance of showers after 9 p.m. The low will be around 56.
