The Wyoming Valley could see some rain as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 44 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 73. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, with a low around 51.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 76.

Clouds will move into the region on Thursday night, and there will be a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 55.

Cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a 70 percent chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm. No rainfall amounts have been predicted, and the high will be near 68.

Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Friday night, along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 50.
