Commuters could encounter a few areas of traffic congestion this morning, but for the most part, the ride into work and school should be relatively smooth.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476. Isolated areas of heavy congestion are reported on Routes 315 and 115.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps. Widespread minor congestion is reported in the southbound lanes of the South Cross Valley Expressway.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, isolated areas of heavy congestion are reported on Kidder and Mundy streets.

Downtown, heavy congestion is reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, as well as on East Market and Coal Streets near the intersection with the boulevard. North and South River streets are also reporting isolated areas of minor congestion.

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
