There will be chance of rain in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 61 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies reported.

Areas of fog are expected before 10 a.m. this morning. Otherwise, partly sunny skies are expected for the rest of the day, with a high near 85.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 59.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 80.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a chance of showers. Thunderstorms will also be possible after 11 p.m., but less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. The low will be around 62.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 78.

Friday night will also bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., followed by a slight chance of showers into the overnight hours. The low will be around 57.
