    Furry Tails will be June 11

    PITTSTON — The next Furry Tails Reading Program will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Pittston Memorial Library.

    The library’s summer reading program will begin registrations Monday, June 13 and the program itself will begin Monday, June 20 and conclude Monday, July 25. This program is available to kids, teens and adults.

    Penn Sate Master Gardener Series will hold its final presentation at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 at the Pittston Memorial Library John P. Cosgrove Center with master gardener Marietta Garr. Participants will learn which type of tree to plant in a garden. The price for the seminar is $4 and can be paid in advance or at the door the evening of the event.

    Lego Club will not meet Wednesday, June 15, but as part of the summer reading will start up on Monday, June 20 and meet from 4 to 5 p.m. every Monday during the program.

    The next adult coloring event will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 20.

    The Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library will hold a book sale from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23.

    A gently used jewelry sale will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Items for sale include sterling and costume necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and more.

    The next book discussion will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 27 to discuss “Sing in the Morning, Cry at Night” by Barbara J. Taylor.

    Volunteer opportunities are available at the library. Opportunities include helping in the library, or with the Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library group. If interested, fill out a volunteer form at the front desk.

    Adult computer classes will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Thursday. The class goes over email, mouse skills and web surfing. Registration is required by calling the library.

    The Crochet Club meets from 10 to 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies including a hook sized I, J, or K yarn.

    The Wee Build program is held Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Fridays at 10 a.m. for children ages 1 through 11. The new toys used promote development in many skills and allow children to express themselves through play. Stop by the library and start building.

    Board games for all ages are available at the front desk and can be used anytime.

    Children ages 3 to 11 are invited to the Lego Club from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the Pittston Memorial Library.

    The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at the library is free and open to all children in the community from birth to kindergarten. The child will receive a bag with an age-appropriate book to keep in his or her collection.


    Learn about Revello’s June 16

    WEST PITTSTON — Pat and Heather Revello of Revello’s in Old Forge will be at the West Pittston Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16 to take participants down memory lane from the small beginnings of their family business to the multiple locations of Revello’s pizza today. Stop in or call the library to reserve a spot.

    In recognition of Audiobook Appreciation Month, join Adult Programming Coordinator Jen Moran at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30 as she helps participants download the new audiobook app from the Luzerne County Library System onto their tablet or smartphone and learn how to use it. Stop in or call the library to reserve a spot.

    Registration for the summer reading program and arts and crafts series will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 24. The series runs from Sunday, June 26 to Friday, Aug. 12 and includes reading, prizes, games, crafts, songs and fun.


    Book sale is June 11

    WYOMING — The Wyoming Free Library will have a fill-a-bag book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11. The cost is$5 per bag. The library is accepting books for the sale. Contact the library for more information about the sale or donations.

    The library will begin the third year of its “Tea Tips and Treasures” themed tea parties with “Visiting the Zoo” from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18. There will be tea and a snack, an interactive display and a short workshop. Children can dress up and bring a doll or stuffed animal to match each theme. Then event is open to children ages 3 and older. There is no cost for the program and an adult must stay with the child. Sign up one week in advance. The teas are from noon to 1 p.m. The library is seeking sponsors and item donations for each program. For sponsorship details, a list of donations or to sign up a child, contact Lindsay at the library.

    Registration for summer reading will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 20. Parents can call the library or register in person. A complete list of activities is available at the front desk, on the library webpage, and on Facebook.

    LEGO Club will meet at the Wyoming Free Library from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25. This program is free, but registrations are required.

    Guest speaker Chris Halbohm, CHt, director of Kingston-Keystone Hypnosis Institute and Weight Loss Center will be at the library from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Call the library to register.
