Wyoming Valley residents can enjoy a sunny Sunday as part of their holiday weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 61 degrees as of 7:01 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, under clear skies.

Sunday’s high is predicted to be about 80, with light wind, with an overnight low of 57.

Independence Day will open with sunshine, but there is a chance of showers later in the afternoon and into the evening, with an anticipated high of 80.

Monday overnight low is predicted to be 65 with continued scattered showers.

Tuesday is anticipated to again be clear, with a high of about 80.
