Rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the Wyoming Valley for most of the weekend.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 71 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fog and mist reported.
Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 85. Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, with a low around 64.
Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Saturday, with showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Up to half an inch of rain is possible, and the high will be near 83.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue to be likely before 3 a.m. Saturday night, with up to a half an inch of rain possible. The low will be near 67.
Mostly cloudy skies will round out the weekend Sunday, with showers and thunderstorms likely before 8 a.m. Showers will be likely after 8 a.m., along with a possible thunderstorm. The high will be near 81.
Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 66.
