Sunshine is expected in the Wyoming Valley heading into the weekend, but there will also be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 66 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain and mist reported.
Partly sunny skies are expected today, along with a slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. and a slight chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The high will be near 85.
Partly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and the low will be around 64.
Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, along with some patchy fog before 10 a.m. The high will be near 87. Clear skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 64.
