Sunny skies are expected in the Wyoming Valley, but showers could return to the region as the week comes to a close.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 51 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 79. Clear skies will follow tonight, along with patchy fog after 3 a.m. The low will be around 58.

Patchy fog will be possible before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, and sunny skies are expected for the rest of the day. The high will be near 84.

Mostly clear skies are predicted for Wednesday night, with a low around 64.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. The high will be near 85.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. The low will be around 69.
