Local receive degrees

WILKES-BARRE — The following Greater Pittston residents recently received their respective degrees from Wilkes University after the completion of the summer 2016 semester:

Kayleigh DeMace, Dupont, Master of Arts in Creative Writing; Patrick Forlenza, Hughestown, Master of Science in Education; Kristi Karkut, Dupont, Master of Business Administration; Allie LaMarca, Pittston, Master of Business Administration; Krista Paluski, Wyoming Master of Business Administration; Crystal Smith, Exeter, Master of Science in Education. Kirsten Weidlich, Pittston, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frank Perfinski, West Wyoming, celebrated his 91st birthday on Sept. 16. Frank was married to the late Margaret Holub Perfinski, and her birthday is also the same day, Sept. 16. Frank has two children, Linda Bucci, West Wyoming, and Frank Jr., Newark, Dela. Frank has four grandchildren: Bryan and Kayla Bucci, West Wyoming; and Megan Perfinski-Hernandez and Brittany Perfinski, of Newark, Dela. He has four great grandchildren: Emalee, Aaron, Payton, and Samuel, all of Newark, Dela. Frank is active member of American Legion Post 904, Wyoming-West Wyoming Senior Citizens, and St. Monica’s Church, West Wyoming. He was honored with a dinner with the family.
