Temperatures will be cooler in the Wyoming Valley into the midweek, and the region could also see some rain.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 48 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Clouds will increase today, and the high will be near 69.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, and showers and a possible thunderstorm are possible before 3 a.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the low will be near 55.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually become sunny on Tuesday, with a high near 70. Mostly clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 46.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. The high will be near 73.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, along with a 50 percent chance of showers after 8 p.m. The low will be around 53.
