Showers are likely today but skies are expected to clear for Sunday and Monday in the Wyoming Valley this weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 57 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and a few clouds were reported.

Today’s forecast calls for showers likely, mainly after 10 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Tonight will be cloudy and cool, with a chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m., and a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 61. North wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Sunday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 39. Winds calming down, at 6 to 9 mph.

Your Columbus Day on Monday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 63.

Monday night will be mostly clear and cold, with a low around 38.
