Sunny and above-average temperatures this weekend in the Wyoming Valley


You will have a chance to enjoy a nice weekend of sunshine and above-average temperatures in the Wyoming Valley.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 44 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair conditions were reported.

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 64. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight it will be mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Sunday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 70.

The average high temperature for the Wilkes-Barre area in October is 61 degrees.

On Sunday night there is a chance of showers, mainly after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Monday is expected to bring a chance showers before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
