Rain is expected to stick around the Wyoming Valley through Wednesday, and the temperatures will also warm slightly.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 34 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain and fog were reported.
Luzerne and Lackawanna counties remain under a freezing rain advisory until 12 p.m. today. Light rain developed before dawn this morning, which could create areas of light ice until temperatures warm.
A freezing rain advisory means that periods freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties.
Rain is expected after 9 a.m. today, and up to a quarter of an inch of rainfall is possible. The high will be near 40.
Tonight will also bring a 90 percent chance of rain, mainly before midnight. Up to a quarter of an inch of rainfall is possible, and the low will be near 37.
A 60 percent chance of rain is predicted before noon on Wednesday, with cloudy skies expected otherwise. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, and the high will be near 42.
Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 32.
Partly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 44. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, with a low around 31.
