The Wyoming Valley could see a little more snow into the midweek, but minimal snowfall amounts are expected.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 31 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Luzerne County is under a wind advisory until 6 p.m. today. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are expected in some areas.

Mostly cloudy skies will kick off the new week today, along with a slight chance of snow showers before 2 p.m. Winds could also gust as high as 38 mph. Today’s high will be near 31.

Those mostly cloudy skies are expected to linger into tonight, with a low around 22.

Tuesday is expected to bring partly sunny skies, and a high near 39.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Tuesday night, along with a slight chance of snow showers into the overnight hours. Less than half an inch of new snow accumulation is expected, and the low will be around 30.

Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a chance of snow showers before 2 p.m. and a chance of rain and snow showers into the afternoon hours. Winds could also gust as high as 20 mph. The high will be near 38.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Wednesday night, along with a chance of rain and snow showers before 8 p.m. and a chance of snow showers overnight. The low will be around 24.

School closings and delays

Per WNEP, the following school districts in Luzerne County have announced delays or closures:

• Dallas School District: 2 hour delay

• Hazleton Area: 2 hour delay, no A.M. kindergarten

• Lake-Lehman School District: 2 hour delay

• Luzerne County Community College: Compressed schedule; classes begin at 10 a.m.

• Northwest Area School District: 2 hour delay

• Wyoming Area School District: 2 hour delay
