The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected to stick around the Wyoming Valley through the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 60 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog and mist were reported.

Areas of fog are expected before 9 a.m. today — otherwise, cloudy skies are expected to gradually clear. Today’s high will be near 78.

Cloudy skies will return tonight, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and the low will be around 59.

Friday will start out with mostly cloudy skies, but they will gradually clear. The high will be near 78.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, along with a slight chance of showers after 2 a.m. The low will be around 58.

Saturday will bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Winds could also gust as high as 25 mph throughout the day. The high will be near 81.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Saturday night, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 53.

Partly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 72.

Cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, along with a chance of showers. The low will be around 55.
