Rain is predicted for the Wyoming Valley for the holiday weekend, but the sun will peek through the clouds at various points today and Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 58 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Today calls for a chance of showers, mainly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight there will be patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Sunday will bring patchy fog before 9 a.m., otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 74.

Sunday night there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

On Memorial Day, showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Monday night will be party cloudy, with a low around 56.
