It’s been a tough start to the 2016 boys tennis season both on and off the court. This past week’s weather allowed just one match to be played prior to Friday.

Pittston Area fell to Crestwood, 5-0, on Monday dropping the Patriots to 0-4 on the young season. Jason Homschek, playing No. 1 singles for the Patriots, took Crestwood’s Brandon Krupa to a third set tie break prior to falling 6-4, 5-7, 10-3. The doubles tea of Mike Mazurkivich and Eric Fritz won their first set, but ended up falling 2-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Wyoming Area’s slate of games pretty much got wiped out besides a Friday matchup with Wyoming Seminary. The Warriors’ home match Monday with Valley West has been rescheduled to April 12, while the match on Wednesday, hosting Dallas, has been pushed to April 19.

Wyoming Area and Pittston Area each had matches on Friday, April 8, but scores weren’t available as of press time.
