HUGHESTOWN — The Hughestown Lions Club showed its support of community youth by presenting scholarships to six students for continued education. The club presented the awards at a dinner to honor the recipients and their families on July 9 at the Hughestown Hose Company. The recipients are Kayla Conway, Kaylee Copp, Anthony Gorey, Alexa McHugh, Kearney Turant and Kayleigh Walker.

According to club president Steve Golya, “These individuals have set an excellent example for fellow students to follow, and are deserving of this scholarship. We are also extraordinarily grateful for the support and contributions we received from members of the community. You are helping us make a difference.”

In addition to the scholarships, the club conducts a variety of projects and events, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Halloween Parade in the borough each year.
