After a three-week wait, the local District 16 and 31 9-10 softball teams had to wait a little longer.
The tournament, which was set to begin on Thursday, July 9, was pushed back to Saturday, July 10 due to inclement weather.
In District 31, Greater Wyoming Area played West Side to open the tournament. In District 16, Pittston Area traveled to Nanticoke to begin its quest for a title. The two tournament will be double elimination.
Scores from Saturday’s games were not available as of press time.
The winners from Saturday’s games will play on Sunday, July 12, as will the losers. On Wednesday, July 15, the championship will be decided.
