PITTSTON — Pittston City Little League sign ups for participants ages 4 to 13 will be held at the field house at Sullivan Park on Hillpark Avenue on the following dates and times:

Sunday, Feb. 21 — 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 27 — Noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 28 — 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost for sign ups will be as follows: T-ball, $30; Coach Pitch, $60; Minors, $60; Majors, $60; Juniors, $95.

Stoners Soccer registrations

PITTSTON — The Greater Pittston Stoners Youth Soccer Association will hold spring registration from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22 at the Jenkins Township Volunteer Hose Company, 2 2nd St., Jenkins Township, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Duryea Borough Building, 315 Main St., Duryea.

Open lacrosse clinics in February

WEST PITTSTON — The Valley Laxerz will hold free lacrosse sessions starting the first week in February for any boy or girl that is interested in playing this year at the West Pittston Little League building, located behind the Little League fields in West Pittston.

Current or former Valley Laxerz boys are asked to bring helmets and gloves and girls are asked to bring goggles.

Extra sticks will be available on a first come-first serve basis are limited in quantity.

Any boy ages 8 to 14 can attend the sessions on Monday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and girls grades 2 through 8 can attend the Monday sessions as well as Friday nights from 5 to 6 p.m.

Parents will need to sign a waiver prior to participating.

Valley Laxerz seeking players

WEST PITTSTON — The Valley Laxerz lacrosse organization is looking for additional girls to fill out their fourth, fifth, sixth grade and junior high girls lacrosse teams. Teams will play approximately 10 games and one local tournament during the season against teams from the Back Mountain, Scranton, Mountain Top and Kingston areas. Any girl who presently resides in the Wyoming Valley is eligible to play.

PA football to host Night at the Races

YATESVILLE — The 2016 Pittston Area football team and booster club will host a Night at the Races on Saturday, March 12 at Mt. Carmel Hall, Pittston. Doors open at 5 p.m. and post time is 6.

Horse tickets will be available at the door for $10. Admission is $5, which includes refreshments, food, basket raffles and a 50-50. The event is BYOB.

Lady Striders announce program

WYOMING — The Wyoming Valley Lady Striders will be hosting a Couch to 5k program. Starting on Monday, March 21, the Striders will meet three times per week. The goal is to race in the River Street 3-Mile Race on May 15 in Wilkes-Barre. Cost for participate is $40 and includes entry to race and membership to the Wyoming Valley Lady Striders.
