The first official day of spring sports practice in Pennsylvania was Monday, March 7, and it was sunny and 60 degrees. For last year’s start, it was 45 degrees with snowfall the night before.

The 2016 spring sports season in Greater Pittston got off to one of its best starts in recent memory. According to many coaches, this year was the first time the teams practiced outside on the first day in nearly a decade.

Over the next several weeks, the Sunday Dispatch will feature spring sports previews of all teams in the Greater Pittston area.

The spring sports season officially starts on Monday, March 21 when boys tennis teams hit the courts.
