Meet the Warriors April 3

EXETER — The Wyoming Area Diamond Club will be honoring the 2016 baseball team at “Meet the Warriors” at noon on Sunday, April 3 in the secondary center cafeteria. There will be a mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Parish. The event is open to the public.

WA softball ziti dinner April 10

EXETER — The Wyoming Area Softball Parents Association will be sponsoring its annual ziti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center Cafeteria.

Tickets are $8 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. Eat-in and take-outs will be available. Dinner includes pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverage.

Final plans for ziti dinner will be discussed at the meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at the secondary center room 164.

PA football boosters scholarship

YATESVILLE — The Pittston Area School District Football Booster Club has established a scholarship program for high school seniors who desire to continue their education. A one-time $250 scholarship, based primarily on financial need, will be awarded to a former football player for the first year of college.

An official Pittston Area Football Booster Club application must be returned to the guidance office no later than Monday, March 14. Provide any additional information relevant to the committee. Go to to download the application.

The next booster club meeting will be held at 6p.m. Tuesday, April 5 in the high school cafeteria.

PA girls lacrosse benefit

YATESVILLE — The Pittston Area girls lacrosse will hold a benefit night out at The Red Mill from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 8. There will be food, drinks and basket raffles. All proceeds benefit the booster club.

Valley Laxerz seeking players

WEST PITTSTON — The Valley Laxerz lacrosse organization is looking for additional girls to fill out their fourth, fifth, sixth grade and junior high girls lacrosse teams. Teams will play approximately 10 games and one local tournament during the season against teams from the Back Mountain, Scranton, Mountain Top and Kingston areas. Any girl who presently resides in the Wyoming Valley is eligible to play.
