Four Wyoming Area athletes to continue athletic careers in college

EXETER — Four Wyoming Area student-athletes will continue their athletic careers at local universities this fall.

Gianna Gennetts and Jillian Spak, both long-time starters on the Warriors’ field hockey team, will take their talents to Wilkes University and King’s College, respectively.

Gennetts and Spak were both Wyoming Valley Conference Honorable Mention all-stars following their senior seasons.

Laura Heinzlmeir, who participated on the field hockey, track and field, and cross country team at Wyoming Area, will continue her career at Misericordia University. She said she will run track and cross country.

Alee Pettit is headed to Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove to participate on the women’s soccer team. Pettit was a two-time Wyoming Valley Conference First Team All-Star as a senior.
