Jack-o’-Lantern Jog is Oct. 23

PITTSTON — The Greater Pittston YMCA will be holding a Jack-o’-Lantern Jog on Sunday, Oct. 23 with a 1-mile fun run for children ages 5 and up and a 3-mile run for adults.

The race is along the Luzerne County National Recreation Trail. Afterwards, there will be activities including children’s games, basket raffles, baked goods and more.

Registration is held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Greater Pittston YMCA aerobics room, 10 N. Main St. The 1-mile fun run begins at 10 a.m. and the 3-mile run begins at 10:30 a.m. Participants must sign up online at http://bit.ly/2cZJ8Uo. Those who sign up for the 3-mile race before Saturday, Oct. 15 are guaranteed a T-shirt.

Intramural program set at WAC

EXETER — The Wyoming Area Catholic Intramural Sports Program will run until Friday, Oct. 28. The programs offered beginning the first week will be boys and girls flag football and volleyball. Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to participate.

Boys flag football will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, with the final game on Thursday, Oct. 27. Girls flag football will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, with the final game on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Volleyball will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, with the final game Friday, Oct. 28.

Gym teacher Jerry Renfer will be the coach of all sports.

WA to hosting bball camp

EXETER — The Wyoming Area girls basketball team is holding a Learn2Hoop Elementary Program for girls in third through sixth grades. Sessions will be held on from 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 30.

Cost is $35 per player ($20 for each additional sibling after first). Registration form can be found at www.wyomingareagirlsbasketball.org.

Sports club attending PSU games

HUGHESTOWN — The Hughestown Sports Club will attend all Penn State home games this season.

Transportation is available to both club members and anyone interested in attending home games. A few season tickets are available as well as individual tickets.
