WEST PITTSTON — Wyoming Area took down Pittston Area for the second time this season with a 2-1 win Tuesday at Anthony “Jake” Sobeski Stadium.
After Pittston Area’s Dominic Stella started the scoring just seven minutes into the game, Wyoming Area’s Casey Orlando took over the match. Orlando scored eight minutes later with an assist from Michael Wall. The two teams would sit silent until the 60th minute.
The Warriors were granted a penalty kick, and Orlando cashed in for the game-winner.
Pittston Area outshot Wyoming Area, 19-13, but Warrior goalie Jason Mapes made 18 saves and kept the Patriot offense at bay. For Pittston Area, Kyle Mildjeski made 11 saves in the loss.
This week, Pittston Area will travel to Hazleton Area on Monday, and Coughlin on Wednesday. Wyoming Area travels to Crestwood on Monday and hosts Dallas on Wednesday.

Erica Gallagher’s second goal of the day put the Warriors on top for good in a back-and-forth game Thursday. Aleah Kranson got the assist on the winner and scored two herself.
Cassidy Eckert led the Bulldogs with two goals.

Aleah Kranson scored the last three goals for the Warriors to finish with a hat trick, and worked an assist on the opening goal to lift Wyoming Area to victory Friday.
Hannah Pugh scored in the first half for the Hawkeyes to cut Wyoming Area’s lead to 3-1.

Kennadi Josefowicz scored the first two goals and Riley O’Neil finished with two assists as the Spartans shut down Pittston Area Thursday.
Taryn Ashby finished with 11 saves for the Patriots, while Danielle Cook made 10 stops for Valley West.
Pittston Area will host Hazleton Area on Monday to begin the final week of the regular season. Wyoming Area will travel to GAR on Tuesday. The Patriots will host Coughlin on Wednesday, while Wyoming Area travels to Holy Redeemer on Thursday.
