Valley Laxerz seeking players

WEST WYOMING — The Valley Laxerz is looking for additional players to fill out its grade 5-6 and grade 7-8 girls teams for the upcoming 2017 season.

The teams practice in March and the season runs from April until the end of May. Players participate in a recreational league consisting of teams from the Back Mountain, Mountain Top, Scranton and Kingston, playing 10 games in addition to two local tournaments.

Those interested in signing up may access the Laxerz website at http://valleylaxerz.usl.la/ and selecting the online registration option from the drop down menu.

WA lacrosse parents meeting April 5, other news

EXETER — Future fundraising plans will be discussed at Wyoming Area lacrosse parents meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5 at Wyoming Area Secondary Center, 20 Memorial St.

Parents of student athletes playing lacrosse are encouraged to attend. Candy or buyout fees can be turned in at the meeting. Additional candy will be available for pickup. Parents of players who have not signed up yet are encouraged to attend and sign up their child.

Registration forms and buy-out options were sent home over the last two weeks. Parents need to complete registration forms and participate in the buyout option. Forms and buyout information must be returned prior to the beginning of the season.

Mezzo Mezzo pizza sales order form must be handed in by Friday, April 7. The organization’s first corn hole tournament will be held in May. An exact date will be announced soon.

The lacrosse organization will attend a match between Notre Dame and Army’s men’s lacrosse teams in West Point, N.Y. May 6. The trip is family oriented and open to the public.
