FALLS — Rick Evans and Jim Breck won the tiebreaker over Ted Matthews and Joanie McGuire to capture the Emanon Country Club 2016 Opening Day Tournament. Evans and Breck had a one-under-par score of 69 as did Matthews and McGuire. Jerry Gavin and Jerry Byron won the tiebreaker over four teams to place third with Frank Noone and Joe Weiscarger finishing fourth.

Thomas records hole-in-one

Jim Thomas, of Jenkins Township, recorded his first career hole-in-one on the sixth hole of Emanon Country Club. Thomas used a 32-degree hybrid to ace the 155-yard hole while playing in the Emanon Industrial Thursday night league. Witnessing the feat was Joe Farrell, Pat Fiscus and playing partner John Haas.
