DURYEA — The Duryea Betterment Committee and the Duryea VFW Post 1227 have joined to honor Duryea soldiers, sailors, Airmen and Marines by dedicating a permanent monument to their valor and having it placed on the grounds at the VFW.
The list of fallen service members currently includes 37 names dating from the Civil War to the War on Terrorism and many wars in between.
Donations for the monument can be sent to Duryea VFW Post 1227, 492 Stephenson St., Duryea, PA 18642 and a monument dedication will be held on Monday, July 4.
