YATESVILLE — The Pittston Area High School student body chose the 2024 queen and her Homecoming Court. The Pittston Area student body voted for the girls based on the true patriot values they perpetually uphold. All of them are involved in their community, sports, clubs and activities in and out of school.

Kassandra Kobi has been chosen the 2024 queen. The court includes Nora Callahan, Julia Homschek, Madison Karp and Daniella Ranieli.

The queen and court all agree their parents have been their biggest supporters.

“They have always taught me to be nice and never bring people down, along with always being my biggest supporters and showing up for me,” Nora Callahan said of her parents, Tia and Michael Callahan of Jenkins Twp.

Nora’s parents cheer her on as a member of the girls’ basketball team. Nora is also a proud member of the National Honors Society, Zero Conflict Club and the Student Council.

“My parents have been with me every step of the way. They have inspired me to be the very best version of myself and always demonstrate kindness every day,” Julia Homschek said.

The daughter of Holly and Dave Homschek of Avoca, Julia is a member of the Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams, the National Honors Society, Zero Conflict Club and Stand Tall Club.

For some of the homecoming court, hearing their names over the loudspeaker as court members was a moment they will cherish forever.

“I was so excited; I immediately texted my family group chat to share the news,” Madison Karp remembers.

The daughter of Debbie and Joe Karp, Madison is the captain of the Field Hockey team, leads the patriots as a member of the girls’ basketball team and is the secretary of the senior class.

Daniella Ranieli was sentimental at the thought of being nominated by her peers for the homecoming court.

“The homecoming court is an amazing experience that I will truly never forget,” Ranieli states. “I told my mom first, because I knew she would be just as or even more excited as I was.”

Ranieli is the daughter of Alissa and Joe Ranieli of Duryea. Her parents were in attendance the night she scored her 1000th point in basketball, and they encouraged her to be a member of the Zero Conflict Club and the National Honors Society.

Although all of the homecoming court exemplifies what it means to be a Patriot, the night belonged to the homecoming queen, Kassandra Kobi.

Kobi is the daughter of Beckie and Joe Kobi of Pittston Township. She leads the Patriots as captain of the field hockey team and is a member of the National Honors Society, Zero Conflict, Environmental, and Stand Tall Club.

As a representative of her school and community, Kobi sets a prime example of upholding the values of the Pittston Area School District.

“I am glad to be an example of these values, because I want to be a good role model to the younger kids,” Kobi expressed. “I am so happy that my classmates chose me and believe I continuously show these values.”

During the football halftime ceremony held last week, Isabella Krashnak, stood in for the 2023 queen, Gianna Adams, who could not make the event. AJ Scialpi escorted Krashnak for the evening.

The queen and her court’s escorts were: Chris Scavo, Richie Tonte, Aiden Lynn, Nicholas Cianfichi and Jake Aftewicz.
