Wyoming Area earned a semifinal matchup with defending state champion Scranton Prep when it defeated visiting Dallas 3-2 Thursday in a District 2 Class 2A girls tennis team semifinal.

The Lady Warriors used their depth to post the quarterfinal victory.

Dallas won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Sarah Willison won at No. 3 singles and Wyoming Area swept doubles.

Willison defeated Fiona Johnson-Fallon 6-1, 6-0.

Erica Gilligan-Selena Nova rallied at No. 1 doubles to defeat Lily Milazzo-Cassie Alaimo, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Natalie Leibman-Lily Kasa downed Lena Rogala-Abby Worth, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles.

The Dallas points came by Cat Finn with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Emma Kratz and Mahi Dohl with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 victory over Molly Kratz.

Third-seeded Wyoming Area is scheduled to face second-seed and Lackawanna League champion Scranton Prep Tuesday at 12:30 at Kirby Park in the semifinals. Scranton Prep has its entire lineup back from the state title.

Wyoming Valley Conference champion and top seed Wyoming Seminary meets Tunkhannock in the other semifinal at the same time.

The final is scheduled for later in the day.

Crestwood 4, Pittston Area 1

Top-seeded Crestwood knocked visiting Pittston Area out of the District 2 Class 3A team tournament with a home-court victory Thursday.

Crestwood won its four points in straight sets, including five 6-0 sets.

Gabby Gorzkowski pulled out a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Camerone Carlos at second singles.

SINGLES AND DOUBLES

The first three rounds of the District 2 singles tournaments are scheduled for Friday at Kirby Park.

Singles semifinals and finals are set for Oct. 14.

The doubles tournaments are scheduled for Oct. 17 and 21.
